Background Behavior

You did not wake up one morning and decide to dim yourself. Something happened first. And whatever that something was, you have been repeating the pattern ever since without even realizing you were doing it. Getting quiet in certain rooms. Shrinking around certain people. Editing yourself before anyone else asked you to. You have called it your personality. Your humility. Just who you are. But in your quiet moments, there is shame around it. Because something in you knows this is not really who you are. In this episode of the Bold Becomers Podcast, Chara gives you language for what has been happening. It is called background behavior. And it is not a character flaw. It is a coping response to a bushel experience. And the moment you can name it, you can finally choose something different. IN THIS EPISODE: • What background behavior actually is and why every woman has it in some form • Why the shame around it is the very thing keeping it in place • What background behavior looks like in real, everyday moments • How Honor Your Story, the H in the SHINE Method, is the key to recognizing it without shame • 5 practical strategies to begin moving from behind the scenes into the fullness of who God created you to be • This week's Challenge of the Week: one honest look, one visible reminder KEY QUOTE: "Background behavior got you through something. It does not have to be how you continue through the rest of your story." MISSED LAST WEEK? This episode builds directly on Episode 5: Bushel Experiences. If you have not listened yet, go back and start there. It will make everything in this episode land even deeper. FREE RESOURCE: Permission to Shine Free Guide. Grab it at https://charajaneshine.com.
